Woodward Dream Cruise Weekend 2017: Come Rain, Mist, Or A Bad Case Of Windburn, We Shall Deliver!

Woodward Dream Cruise Weekend 2017: Come Rain, Mist, Or A Bad Case Of Windburn, We Shall Deliver!

Friday afternoon was a grab-bag of weather for the pre-Cruise. It wasn’t the absolute flooding that the race at Milan had turned out to be, but it was far from peachy weather. Clouds that looked menacing kept rolling through, the wind was high enough that my wife’s face looked as if she had been skiing all day long without sunscreen, and every now and then a shower that was more like ocean spray than it was rain would come rolling through. And nobody cared…the cars just kicked the headlights and windshield wipers on and rolled on by as if it was 1972 all over again and these were normal cars instead of collector units, too fragile to see anything but the most perfect day of the year.

I want to give tons of credit to Haley, by the way. A ton of the pictures you are seeing are thanks to her…she scooped up one of my cameras and got to work snapping photos with me. Yes, I’m lucky, and I know it, and I got confirmation of that when we were heading back to the hotel, her face beet-red from windburn. She worked her tail off just as much as I did over the weekend.
