10,000 RPM Feature Video: Gerry Waddell’s HIGH RPM 1970 Chevy Nova At The 2024 Stick Shift Nationals Drag Race At Farmington Dragway

Growing up in a stick shift drag racing family means that cars like Gerry Waddell’s bad ass Nova really get me going. This thing is epic, he drives it old school, and while it does have a modern race trans in it that allows full throttle shifts and no clutch, that doesn’t take away from the awesome old school feel. He’s turning this thing to 10,000 rpm! Hell his burnout is around 9 grand! Plus there are dry hops! Seriously, this thing is rad. It runs good, sounds amazing, and the video gives it to us from all angles so you gotta watch and enjoy.

Big thanks to Bobby Fazio for the cool video to share. We dig it.

Video Description:

High winding stick shift drag racing, nothing beats it! The 14th Annual Clemmons Concrete Stick Shift Nationals at Farmington Dragway, NC did not disappoint. It gives me an opportunity to step outside my class racing world but still see a handful of class cars competing at a really cool $10,000 to win event. Gerry Waddell’s Modified Super Stock SS/FM Nova caught my eye, and ears, and I wanted to get a closer look.
