(Photos by Joe Grippo) – Just when you thought it was safe to go outside, we’re back with a final installment of drag strip photos from the 2015 FE Race and Reunion at Beaver Springs Dragway. Since Ford lovin’ Joe Grippo was our man on the scene and he may still be hospitalized with blood flow issues to certain parts of his body triggered by these cars, we hope you have been enjoying the photos. The Ford drag machines of the 1960s were an extension of the company’s Total Performance strategy that saw them put on the greatest coordinated assault on auto racing the world had ever seen to that point and since. From flip top body Mercury funny cars, to the Cobra Jet Mustangs, the company was out for blood on the strip.
Many of the cars you see here are tributes to those years and those legendary models that wowed crowds and stoked the competitive flames of brand loyal fans across the country. This is truly cool stuff.
