(Photos by David Whealon) – We’re a long way from 1990, aren’t we? If the pro mod pioneers of the early 1990s could have seen what their class would become, with its own flipping sanctioning body, they would have been amazed. Sometimes the leaps were small. Other times they were bounding jumps as new technology hit the sport. The common denominator is the fact that they was, is, and always will be a constant march forward. Forward with chassis technology. Forward with horsepower development. Forward with the promotion of full-bodied cars drag racing, and forward with the personalities in those cars.
The PDRA is in many ways the ultimate extension of that 1990 debut of pro modified. Every style of car is represented, top sportsman and top dragster are major parts of the program, and they welcome new competitors with open arms. We’re back with more action photos from the 2018 PDRA East Coast Spring Nationals. We know you’ll dig them!
