(Words and photos by Kelly Wade) – If you’re a fan of two-wheeled race machines, you would have had a blast at Tierp Arena’s Summit Racing Internationals last weekend in Sweden. Riders in Top Fuel Bike, Pro Stock Bike, Super Twin Bike, Super Street Bike, and Junior Drag Bike are all racing for trophies. They mean business, but they also aren’t afraid to have a little fun. Yes, there is a photo in the gallery of riders unabashedly applauding one their competitors who made a fairly spectacular pass. These riders travel from all over Sweden, Norway, Finland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Great Britain, and even Japan to compete in this series that offers a little bit of something for everyone.
(Editor’s note – History was made at this race as the first every 5-second runs were made by a V-twin powered motorcycle. We’ll have video of those amazing rips the site but the fact is that the European motorcycle drag racing scene is insane and arguably the best on Earth. Motorcycles have had more of a mainstream role in daily life there so it makes sense in some ways. We dig the fact that unless we told you that this action happened in Sweden, few people would ever pick up on that. -Brian)
