(Photos by Joe Grippo) – As we were straightening up our electronic desk this winter we came across piles of photos that we had not yet published and while that’s a crying shame it is also kind of awesome. Why? This stuff can help us forget about the Siberia-like conditions at BangShift eastern world HQ and for most of you, the scene outside your window as well! For starters were going to show you these photos from the 2019 NHRA Dutch Classic at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Pennsylvania. This is always the season closer for the NHRA Division One Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series season and it’s been going on for decades.
Cool, oxygen rich air provides the perfect setting for record runs, big wheelies, and super strong competition. We’ve got a load of stock and super stock photos to kick off our coverage with and we know that you will enjoy them. Big tires, wheels up fun, and best of all, the cars range the gamut between classics to modern day hustlers.
Here’s a look back into the not so distant past with the 2019 NHRA Dutch Classic!
Love these Joe. Real cars rode by real weekend warriors.
A couple cars really stood out to me.
The red and white early 90s Cavalier. I haven’t seen one this clean since they were the car of choice for Super Gas over 20 years ago. It’s nice.
The early fox-body Capri. I can’t remember when I last saw one of these done up like this. Definitely before I discharged from the military over 22 years ago.
So much good stuff.
Nice job Joe.
A good informative post
