(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – If you’ve been asking ‘where’s the beef?’ then my answer is this gallery of photos. My apologies for pictures from the stands, but I wasn’t allowed trackside. Still, we did the best we could and managed to get a few decent shots showing some pretty good stuff. The track seemed to be hooking for most though it was pretty warm outside. We weren’t expecting anyone to bust out new bests or set track records. I would have liked more nostalgia race-types to show up, but I believe there was another event scheduled elsewhere. All in all it was a great time with good racing and lots of horsepower to see, hear, and smell.
In here there is lots to see including:
Mike Lewis’ LarkNess Monster hanging them high out of the gate – look for a feature on this later
The little gold Rambler boiling the hides preparing for a run
Crusty-looking Chevy II that came out of retirement to yank the front wheels a few times
Clean blue Barracuda getting it done on drag radials
Enjoy.
