(Photos by Bad Brad’s Speed Shots) – The whole drag racing world was watching the happenings at Tulsa Raceway Park last weekend and we were doing it because of the incredible performances being turned in by competitors in the Radial Vs. The World category that has come to dominate the sport’s headlines over the last couple of years and last couple of months specifically. The best cars in the country were in Tulsa and they showed it. The class record dropped nearly half a tenth over the course of the race with Dwayne Mills holding it for a short time before Kyle Huettel and the Bad9er crew started literally laying down the law. By the time the dust settled, the record was lowered to 3.81 and now we’re wondering who the first car into the 3.70s will be. If the current trend continues it could happen next weekend!

Outside of the hero passes made by the big names in radial tire racing, there was great action in every category from the little MX235 cars with that record being lowered to 4.70 in the eighth ON A 235 WIDE TIRE! X275 was hot and heavy and the list goes on a and on and on. Rob Valden drove the Andrew Alepa owned C7 Corvette to yet another race win in Tulsa in the premier class at the event and the legend of that car continues to grow as one of his round wins came with the parachute out and the front end up. Literally crazy stuff.
