Perfect Turkey: A 5-Speed, Big Block 1955 Chevy At Alaska Raceway Park!

Perfect Turkey: A 5-Speed, Big Block 1955 Chevy At Alaska Raceway Park!

This video could be better…actually it couldn’t! You are going to ride along in split screen perfection with Scott Granus as he pilots his 1955 Chevrolet called The Junkyard Dog. The car has a really pissed off big block Chevy, a rough and ready look, and a Doug Nash 5-speed transmission. This thing is BangShift perfection for sure and the fact that it pulls the wheels when Granus yanks the shift lever into second gear is even better. What’s cool is that the car is actually more violent hitting second than it is coming out of the hole. What’s also cool is the fact that Granus drives this car like it has wronged him in some way. The man does not spare the rod on this sucker for anything and that’s where the fun’s at.

Not only does it look cool and sound great, it turns some numbers as well. On this particular pass you will see the car run 9.92 at 132mph through the quarter mile and put on a show the whole way down. Kind of like the AMC we showed you earlier today, this car isn’t about the looks, it is about the performance and we’d argue that there are few things more iconic to see on a drag strip than a tough looking 1955 Chevrolet with a gutted interior and a manual transmission.

Scott Granus, you and your are are BangShifty heroes!
