Anatomy Of A Run: See This Father and Son Super Comp Team Get Their Mustang Down The Track From All Angles

Anatomy Of A Run: See This Father and Son Super Comp Team Get Their Mustang Down The Track From All Angles

Rob and Pete Creswell campaign the awesome orange 1965 Mustang you see below in super comp over in Europe. This video shows the guys getting themselves setup and running a qualifying lap at Santa Pod last year. We love the video because there are cameras everywhere. One in on the driver, one at the back of the car, one with Rob the crew guy, and even some in the stands watching the car go down the course. The fun thing here is not some sort of insane action, wreckage, or fire, but rather seeing how these guys run their car. Every team, every driver, every person in the sport has a routine or sequence in which they do things. This video shows us how the Creswell boys roll.

Adding to the cool factor here is the knowledge that this is a championship car and a championship drivers as well. Oh, would you be interested to know that these guy actually built every aspect of the thing themselves?! Rob sent us a note and told us this:

Here is a image attached of our car, which is a self built full tube chassis 1965 Fastback Mustang. The body is an original steel Mustang, apart from the hood which is fibre glass. We race the car in Super Comp and Top Sportsman at Santa Pod raceway (England). My Dad (Pete Creswell) has won many trophies over the years including Super Gas, Super Comp and Top Sportsman with multiple championships. The car was first raced by Dad in 1996 and hasn’t changed a great deal since, a few upgrades here and there such as engines and a change of colour, but apart from that it has been as it sits now, orange since 2008.

So these guys built their own car, have won championships with it, and continue to have fun with the same machine today? Yes, that is 100% BangShift approved stuff for sure. We love the look of the car, the stance, and the color. What we love more is a dad and his son at the drag strip. This time it happens to be in England but it is a scene happily repeated at tracks around the world.

Enjoy this look at how Rob and Pete Creswell run their Mustang. Also note the elapsed time on the run you’ll be in he car for. Index racing is take no prisoners stuff!

  1. Chevy Hatin' Mad Geordie

Imagine a Mustang like this on the street – minus the hideous hood scoop. It would be a gas to pull up to the kerb, pull a switch and the whole car sits on its sills due to a trick airbag suspension set up.

    Droooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool!
