Awesome Video: Ride Along In A 2,500hp Top Sportsman Car As The Driver Wrestles It Down The Track

The coolest thing for me being at the drags as much as I am is meeting the people and learning the stories behind the cars I see. During the NHRA New England Nationals (which are bring finished as you read this) I was able to meet Cedric Beaulieu. Cedric has one of the coolest top sportsman cars in the world and thankfully we got him up out of bed early and Dave Nutting shot a full feature on the thing which you will see in the coming weeks. We’re going to keep most of the details close to the vest but we will tell you that this is a twin turbo car with nearly 600 inches of displacement. It makes some 2,500hp and it’ll run way down in the 6-second range and well over 230mph. This thing is bad ass.

This video should give you an indication of what it is like to pilot such a machine. Shot at the Pont Rouge drag strip in Canada, Cedric powers down the track and this is no straight line boogie. The dude is working his ass off the entire wa and driving the thing like a total boss. People who think that all you have to do is step on the gas and hold the wheel straight are idiots and need to see this video.

I have watched this car for nearly 15 years as Cedric and his family regularly tow it down from Quebec to compete at New England Dragway on big weekends. It has been outstanding to see it evolve and change over the years. Back when it first showed up with the turbos, those were a very, very rare thing to see on a drag car. Today you can’t miss them but this car was way ahead of the curve.

The big feature is coming. For now take a look at this video and see what Cedric does in the machine going down track!
