You know the names ID Motorsports Design and Stu Wotypka from their appearances on the pages of BangShift before. Stu has worked with some of the most well know chassis builders and body builders in the world to create the renderings of what later become race car bodies and builds. Some of his most recent work is shown below. The guy also has a wickedly funny side and he’s been responsible for some of the best April Fool’s Day pranks that we have ever done. Who remembers the time we announced Toyota was joining NHRA pro stock and showed you an amazingly detailed drawing of what the car looked like and everything? Yeah that was Stu, along with last year’s “Retro-Jet” straight axle Mustang and a bunch more.
We’re not trying to fool you here, in fact Stu is looking for some crowd sourced inspiration and that’s the reason we’re showing you some of his current work and asking you what YOU think should be the next car to get the pro mod treatment. There are a lot of bodies out there right now but people are always looking for something unique and cool so your ideas and suggestions could be really good. Remember, there are already things like the 1969 Charger Daytona, late model Mustang and Camaro, Corvettes of virtually all shapes and sized (except for C3), and some weird looking stuff too that we won’t even remind you of. Perhaps exotics should be considered or maybe forgotten muscle? The world is your oyster and this dude is insanely talented as you will see below.
BANGSHIFT QUESTION OF THE DAY: CHECK OUT THESE THREE RECENT PROM MOD ADDITIONS AND THEN TELL US WHAT YOU THINK THE NEXT ONE SHOULD BE!

Some other 70s econo-box: a Vega, Pinto, etc.

I think we have the beginnings of a league here: 70s Ecobox Pro-mod bracket racing. They have to keep the stock engines and drivetrains, but performace add-ons are still welcome.
Slant 6s vs. AMC I6s.
Pinto I4s vs. Vega I4s
80 – 83 Imperial Body
75 – 78 Matador – one that looks like the Stretch Armstrong treatment of a Pacer
Yeah a Pacer station wagon! If I win the lottery I’ll build one
I’d like to see ColoradoKid/GuitarSlingers vehicle made into a Pro Mod car.
Oh I forgot, all he has is a VW van or his Mercedes SUV, maybe he can use his Vespa as a chase vehicle for it.
I’m thinking Torino Tallladega/Cyclone Spoiler. Perfect for the class.
HEY 75DUSTER ;
COLORADOKID COULDN’T
USE HIS VESPA
HIS …VAGINA …

STUCK TO THE SEAT !!!!
Well, what about a Maverick?? But of course with some serious body mods:):)
I second the Imperial, or the other two J-body Mopars. After that…Grand Prix 2+2, and late-1980s LeBaron coupe.
’74 Monaco in a Bluesmobile theme.
Some lunatic in England built a Pro Mod Rolls Royce Silver Shadow – After that the only barrier is your imagination!
XKE Jaguar, VW Beetle that should get the ball rolling!
69/70 GTO Judge, 71 Charger, 70 Rebel Machine, 73 Grand Am, 69/70 Grand Prix, 70/71 Torino or Cyclone would all be awesome to see in Pro mod form
41 willys pickup, or ford station wagon
Edsel wagon and I don’t think I’ve seen a 71-74 Roadrunner.
“The stately marlin”
What about a CTS-V or a truck of some sort
68 Buick skylark would make a very cool pro mod style car
70 ranchero / torino
71-73 Mustang
93-98 Lincoln Mark VIII
