I-40 Dragway In Tennessee Is Now Crossville Dragway! Big Improvements In The Works NOW!

I-40 Dragway In Tennessee Is Now Crossville Dragway! Big Improvements In The Works NOW!

As you heard here first, I-40 Dragway recently sold about a month ago, and the new owners promised very good things for the future of the track and entire racing facility. Well they are making good on those promises! While we are sad to announce that the track will be closed for the remainder of the year, we are happy to announce that the reason is because they have big big plans and want to get things started and finished as soon as possible so that the improvements are all in place by the start of the 2016 racing season. The first big change has already happened, and that is the name change. Crossville Dragway is the new name and it’s not the only thing getting a revamp, by a long shot.

New improvements are to include all new electronics, facilities, and integrated systems that will accommodate racers, fans, and all the new additions to the track. Those new additions include a new tower, concessions facilities, and covered grandstands. Covered grandstands!!! (We love covered grandstands.) And they are literally starting work on the facility immediately.

We can’t wait to see the improvements as they come to life, and can’t wait for the first race there with all the new goodies. We’ll be there for sure and you should be too!

Here is the track’s official announcement.

As you may have heard, on August 6th, 2015 I-40 Dragway, of Crossville, TN was bought by Crossville Motorsports Park LLC. Along with the purchase of I-40 dragway, comes a new name, “Crossville Dragway”. The owners of Crossville Dragway plan to install new systems throughout the race track, along with a new tower, concessions, and covered grand stands. We believe these changes will continue to draw attraction locally and nationally from racers all around.

We are very excited to announce that Crossville Dragway will undergo extensive renovations, starting immediately. We plan to make Crossville Dragway the premier drag racing facility in middle Tennessee. After many discussions and looking at all the options, we plan to close the dragstrip for the remainder of the year so that renovations can be completed in a timely manner. CMP plans to keep racers and fans updated on our Facebook page, Crossville Dragway. Crossville Motorsports Park is currently working on different marketing strategies, such as sending our information to websites, encouraging you to help us get our name out there.

Our plan is to re-open Crossville Dragway in the spring of 2016, with a clean facility that is family oriented and a fun place to race! Starting in the spring, we will have a weekly racing program as well as special events scattered throughout the racing season. We encourage you to follow our Facebook for updates and pictures coming soon of our facility! We look forward to sharing our progress with our fans and can’t wait until next spring!
