This year’s SEMA Show had some great new parts, as usual, and one of them that we got to check out up close is the new FTI Performance bolt-together torque converter. It’s their Gen 3 XPM billet converter and because it is a true bolt together unit there is tunability you can’t get any other way. The interchangeable internals mean you can change the characteristics of the converter yourself at home instead of having to send it back to be cut apart, adjusted, and then rewelded together. For guys that continue building more power, and who are making other changes to their combination, this adjustability can be invaluable.
