Doing 220 MPH On A Runway In A Pro Mod Is Sketchier Than You Think!

Running standing mile or standing half-mile events is harder than you might think if you are trying to go anywhere north of 200 mph. What’s funny is that cars you usually expect to be going that speed, like a Pro Mod, often have the hardest time. Running on big slicks and trying to put down big power on a surface that has no prep done to it at all is probably not the smartest idea, or at the very least not easy. Slicks don’t like hooking up on a surface with no prep at all, and that exactly describes the runway in this video from 1320Video.

Watch and see just how sideways the driver gets trying to put power down and go fast. Sketchy is certainly the right way to describe it. But man it sure is fun to watch.

Here’s the video description:

A Pro Mod at a half-mile is something you never see! They obviously aren’t meant for half-mile passes, but this man has the stones to pilot it down the airstrip! These were the sketchiest passes we’ve seen at an event like this, but over the course of the weekend, they really got the hang of it! Now they’ve got the half-mile bug!
