A Project Car For $75,000?! That’s What This Real Hemi Roadrunner Will Cost You.

A Project Car For $75,000?! That’s What This Real Hemi Roadrunner Will Cost You.

Maybe it’s just me, but since I’ve never owned a $75,000 car I certainly can’t imagine spending $75,000 on a project. I’m not saying this real Hemi Roadrunner isn’t worth it, but man it’s a lot of money. And I know this is going to sound funny, but if I’m looking at something that costs $75,000 I think the ad should be a little more detailed. Of course this is the guy who can’t afford something like this talking. Maybe it’s not big deal if I had that kind of scratch just hanging out in my pockets. What do you think? Worth it?

Remember, there are supposedly only 16 or so of these cars that were ever built in 1970 with an automatic. The fact that it appears to be B5 Blue, one of the favorites of Mopar freaks the world around, probably makes it worth even more. BUT… the last one to sell at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale earlier this year only brought $150,700. If you love this thing and are going to restore it yourself, have fun with it. If you are going to buy it, pay someone to build it, and then look at it you better be in love cause you’ll never make your money back.

But it is a real R-Code Hemi Roadrunner.

1970 HEMI roadrunner*project* 4

Here is what the listing says:

Original “R” code Hemi roadrunner. Needs paint and put together. Includes 426 HEMI engine, and 99% of all the parts to complete (there is always something needed)

$75k, may trade
No rust

Thanks

Another reason I’ll never sell either of my Montegos. I paid $550 for one and $800 for the other and I drove both of them home.
