This 1970 Pontiac Trans Am Is Certified to 6.0 And Super Clean For Only $37,500 Which Seems Cheap

When we found this 1970 Pontiac Trans Am on eBay I have to say I was looking for it to be a 20 footer or something. But after looking at all the photos and reading the description this just seems like a really nice race car for a very reasonable price. At $37,500 for the roller, or $48,500 with the Poncho engine and glide that runs 8.0’s we think it sounds pretty good. We would probably go without the engine and trans but that’s just us. It’s a legit 6.0 certified car, that is very light, and that has great fit and finish and paint work based on what we can see in the photos.

If it were ours we would do one of the following with it.

Junkyard Big Block Chevrolet with twin turbos and go run in the 7’s with it.

Junkyard LS with twin turbos and go run 7’s with it.

Current Pontiac engine with a bunch of spray and run 7’s or maybe turbocharge that bad boy because it will be way fun!

There are too many options when you have a car like this that has the kind of flexibility and light weight this one has.

Nice car and well built. No junk comes out of Jerrys shop.Just an FYI the car belongs to a fellow DragWeeker Kelvin Poe with the early 60s Pontiac wagon Bronze in color.

What kind of a dumb fuck thinks they would rather have a piece of shit chevy engine or over rated pos ls in a car like this? My guess is the shit chevy idiot in you can’t handle a real engine. You can not build a chevy engine to make the power this Pontiac engine makes for less money to justify buying it as a roller and putting your pos chevy built the same way as this Pontiac. But I guess you want to cater to the advertising clowns. Screw that. This is a first rate car that weekend after weekend has beat chevy after chevy that had more $ in Thier engines than this one.

Maybe everytime some IDIOT says put a chevy engine in everything they are the dickhead? You want a chevy, buy a chevy. ou don’t buy a different make of car to put a chevy in. You don’t buy a Mopar to put a ford engine in now do you? Do you buy a chevy to put a Toyota engine in? Plus this writer does not consider this car is set up to run the same e.t. pass after pass. Want this car to go headsup? I can promise you there is well into 7’s in it

I just get tired of the idiot magazine one brand only no matter what the car is stupidity and it is time they get called out on their ignorance. They couldn’t get with in a second of this cars e.t. for what they are saying in the article for the cost of buying this car complete vs. as a roller and have anything that would also stay together for the next few seasons like this engine will. If this was truly the all about all types of cars this .com purposes it is, it wouldn’t be so on the pushing junkyard crap lie. Funny, the guy hated a Camaro that had a ford engine in it. He needs to get off his chevy only stupidity on writing.

Couldn’t agree more. Anybody with 1/2 a clue knows Justin’s car was Pontiac powered and was kicking the shit out of anything Chevrolet based.

Typical industry ignorance. You don’t buy a Pontiac to bastardize it. I can’t argue much against the BBC since to date it is faster than the Pontiac, however we’re not far behind and Pontiacs are cheaper and lighter.

HOWEVER; the LS? Are you joking? The LS is junk, expensive, fragile, and it’s not out of the 6s yet, unlike Pontiac, Chevys (BB/SB), Ford (FE/Mod), Hemi, GOD DAMN TOYOTA!? Stop pushing the LS agenda and stay away from this car, leave it for someone who deserves it!
