Alex Taylor Makes Two 236 MPH Record Breaking Runs To Set A Record And Get Her 200 MPH Club Red Hat! Speed Week 2024 – Day 5

It wasn’t without some hurdles, that’s for sure, but Alex Taylor did us all proud and wheeled the Camaro to a record qualifying 236 mph on Monday morning and then backed it up the same day with a 235 mph run to get herself into the record books. In doing so she joined a very special club of people, the Bonneville 200 mph Club, and got her famed Red Hat. But she’s not done yet! She wants to try and run over 250 this week, which would give her a AA License as well, and if she can run back to back runs over 250 she would get her license and a pretty special record as well.

As we said yesterday, Alex is back out at Bonneville after getting here licensing runs done last year here at Bonneville Speed Week, and she’s all fired up to be going after a record behind the wheel of Keith and Tonya Turk’s famed Camaro. This thing is known as the So-Al Special, the Hot Rod Camaro, the Car Junkie TV Camaro, and the Roadkill Camaro, and Alex is just one of many who have raced this thing over the years, myself included.
