Making Cheap Rust Coat Look Like Factory Paint – Insane Rustoleum Results That Will Surprise You!

Cheap DIY paint jobs totally intrigue me as our regular readers and viewers will know. I have never painted a car myself, but am planning for one this year, and have looked at just about every option for painting my own at home. Rustoleum, or Trem Clad as it is know in some parts of the world, has been used on an insane number of fences, implements, tractors, equipment, and more. But in recent years there have been a lot of people using it to paint cars and trucks for cheap. And some of them get insanely nice results. What do you think? Would you try it at home?

Thank you for watching! We hope you like the video and consider subscribing! In this video we are working on a dodge caravan that needs a freshen up. This is Cam’s daily driver and he wanted it to look more presentable. There were panels that were different shades of red, rust spots starting and clear coat peeling off the roof. The Van was stripped down and then sanded before getting a little body filler on the spots that needed it. Then another round of sanding on those areas. Once everything was smooth it was wiped down with final wipe and masked off so that we could paint it. The red covered really well even though Cam did get some strange reactions in the mix. But once that was resolved it was time for the clear coat. Cam used a very metallic silver and mixed it with the clear to get the custom look. This was the first time we did this so it was an experiment. It turned out pretty good and definitely something that we would try again!
