Incredibly small percentages of American’s actually use their truck for any truck things. By truck things, I mean hauling and towing. In fact, the number of folks who ever tow, and who ever put ANYTHING in the bed of their trucks, is small when compared to how many trucks are sold each year. So if that is the case, why do so many people drive around in HD trucks? Why are there so many 2500 and 3500 trucks so each year? And when you consider that my 1987 Chevrolet crew cab dually is rated to tow the same weight that a modern 1500 is rated for, it is kind of nuts.
There have been several times where I wondered what is the actually tipping point for someone to actually need a 2500 or 3500 truck. Maybe this video will get us closer to an answer as these to GM trucks are put to the test.
