I’ve had a GoPro come off a car at over 100 mph a couple of times, and sometimes the footage is awesome. But when one comes off the rear wing strut of a Top Fuel Dragster at 319 mph it is epic, and this video is just that. Pat Dakin was in qualifying at Indy on Saturday night and the camera falls off and takes a tumble like you wouldn’t believe. When it comes to rest it is right side up looking down the track and you see the NHRA official run up to it and pick it up. It’s still working perfectly! That’s one tough GoPro for sure.
We’ve included two angles, both the camera that fell off and the one that was looking backwards in it’s direction so you can see just how violent the run is.
Enjoy.
That is the awesomest, coolest vid in a long time. Go Pro needs to make a commercial or better yet sponsor Pat’s dragster….
Nice clean run by Pat Dakin in the Commercial Metal Fabricator team.
That is the one thing that has bugged me about putting on a GoPro, is having it fall off mid track.
The audio sounds too good to be a GoPro.
