Here’s a thought for you: going from zero to sixty-two miles an hour in about half a second while you hang on for dear life on a homebuilt trike. For a few of you, that sounds like the best way to end your time on Earth, for most of you it’s somewhere between “I’d like to try it once for the experience” and the ultimate test of the stain-resistancy of your riding suit. But you’ve probably seen the propulsion method that François Gissy’s Water Trike uses before, though in a much smaller form. Have you ever compressed air and water in a soda bottle, sending it off into the wild blue yonder? Scale it up, set the bottle on it’s side and put on a lone Brembo disc brake just to make sure that there is an element of safety involved and you have the right idea. It’s the ultimate dragster for the Sierra Club: this thing moves out at NHRA speeds, yet all it emits is a loud noise and rainwater that Gissy has collected.

And this isn’t the Frenchman’s first time with a psychotic rocket vehicle. Once you’re done with this video, check out the one that involves a rocket-powered bicycle that absolutely dusts a Ferrari Scuderia like it wasn’t moving. This dude is mental.
