Watch The Bruder Brothers Make The Quickest X275 Run In History With Their Blown, EFI-equipped Small Block Ford

It was a crazy night of qualifying at the Outlaw Street Car Reunion on Friday. There were huge runs made in many categories but one of the most significant came from the Bruder Brothers in their X275 car. This is the machine that made its official debut at Lights Out 8 and has been getting better and better with each pass. The car is unique in the fact that instead of the typical centrifugal supercharger, nitrous setup, or turbocharger, the Bruders are using an 8-71 supercharger prepared by Chuck Ford. Because of the combo the car has a race weight of 2,700lbs.

There have been some teething issue with the car as there are with any new combo usually. Pistons have been sacrificed, some hoods have bought the farm, but the corner has officially been turned and that’s probably a bad thing for the other racers in the class. After making some strong test runs on Thursday, the Bruders stood on it a little bit Friday, netting them a the X275 record.

The car, which certainly has far more performance potential than the 4.36/154mph run shows, is an awesome looking and running piece. We look forward to seeing what the car does in eliminations and we’re very, very sure that there will be come upcoming rules “adjustments” for this combination.

The Bruders are smart, hard working guys who have figured out a combo that others have not. The reward for that in drag racing? Weight, usually.
