(Photos by Greg Rourke) – Well, we have come to the end of the line with respect to the great photos that Greg Rourke sent us from Central Illinois Dragway. We’re pretty sure that Greg showed us nearly every car on the property and he certainly captured some awesome action with huge wheelies on the strip. Today we complete our stroll through the pits that we started yesterday and give you one last look at some of the near iron that was battling on the revived and reenergized race track. Lots of the cool cars you see belong to the Ozark Mountain Super Shifters group that travels to various tracks in the center of the country to compete in their own series which is based around stick shift race cars.
From the gassers to the dragsters to the modern tube chassis door slammers, there was really something for everyone when Greg was at CID. In 100% honesty we can tell you that the best thing which could come out of someone looking at the gallery and checking out the photos is a realization that, “Hey, I need to SEE this place for myself!” If we can get some people interested and at least in the stands to buy a beer and munch a hot dog, everyone wins and what’s better than that?

Thanks for featuring the High Life in the Photo line up. We also own the “Pete Lopez 68′ Camaro pictured. We acquired the car as a roller it now holds a 280” Buick headed SBC 10,000 RPM screamer. This was the first trip to the track for the 68′ so we are still dialing it in.
