(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – Feast your eyes on these. Most are cacklers, but all are awesome examples of the glory days of drag racing. The cacklefest is one of the most-sensory-overloading events you can ever witness and the mini-fest held at the host hotel on Friday night was even more so. The cars were gathered under the entrance so as they lit off the sound reflected off the structure. Unfortunately, the fumes did the same thing and one particular car had the expended fuel right at the crowd which quickly stepped back.

Most of these rides are lovingly restored and cared for by folks who have been fortunate enough to snag a piece of history and become a part of it.
