Come Saturday, the small, normally quiet little town of Coffeyville, Kansas is going to get one hell of a wake-up notice. The Coffeyville Street Drags, a sanctioned street race actually held in the industrial park area, will kick off and the racing will be on. I’ve been wanting to come out to Coffeyville since late last year, but I wasn’t able to this Spring when Chad covered the gig, so for the first time on Friday, Angry Grandpa tooled into town. I had been tipped off that there would be a meet and greet at the Cherokee Casino in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma (just south of Coffeyville, Kansas) so I made my way there and parked. And the cars started to roll in. Not many, to be honest, but enough to get an idea of what’s going to make an appearance on the 1/8th mile course. Consider this an early preview…everything from hot street cars to no-joke racers are going to be present and accounted for, so be sure to check into the Livestream, which should be going hot at 11 A.M. Central!
