(Photos by Kim Fuller) • Twenty-three ’68 Hemi Dodge Darts and Plymouth Barracudas made their way to INDY for the 70th Annual NHRA U.S. Nationals, the Big Go Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. The dominance of Steve Comella’s solid red Barracuda led from the #1 qualifying position, meeting Bucky Hess in the Final Round of eliminations.

In the Final, Comella’s .014 reaction time and killer 8.396 at 159.82 MPH put the the beautiful Hess Cuda on the trailer with his 8.411 ET.

Thanks to the hard work of two Mopar legends Ronnie Sox and Herb McCandless, the Sox & Martin HEMI Challenge at the U.S. Nationals and the prestige of this specialty event is assured.
