Cool Cruisers, Weird Cruisers, Trucks, And Battle Wagons From The Holley Reunion At Bowling Green

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – The Bronco golf cart and a red Cushman 3-wheeler might be the only golf carts that I didn’t find annoying over the weekend.  Lots of able-body people driving around the show-n-shine area and other places and many not generally caring what got in their way.  Not only did I narrowly escape getting plowed under a couple times – I was nearly taken out by a guy riding his bike with one hand while talking on his cell phone in a crowded area.  Wow.

Ford Falcons and Mercury Comets are hot right now and there was no shortage of them in every conceivable configuration including the awesome red stocker in this photo roundup.  Continuing on there’s a Studebaker Champ truck.  Not something we run into on a weekly basis.  There’s also a MGB powered by a GM 60-degree V-6.

The front-engine, rear-wheel-drive bug was about the coolest oddity there.  It had loads of cool tricks and interesting uses for things.  First off the motor is up front and is taking in fresh air through a turbo.  Square tube frame rails also support a 4-point roll bar that is tucked nicely out of the way.  The steering is gear/chain driven and the column pivots out of the way.  The more you looked at it the more things you found that were simply amazing.  It is one of the coolest builds I’ve ever seen.  Enjoy this collection of wild, wide, and wagons.
