We’re taking this one with a grain of salt here, but whether or not the dragster belonged to Shirley Muldowney, this is an impressive find. What you have is a 300″ wheelbase chrome-moly dragster set up for Top Fuel, being sold as a roller for just under $8,000. You don’t get the engine or transmission with the car, but you do get a Strange top-loader rear axle, a Wilwood brake setup, parachutes, gauges, rolling stock, all on a chassis that is certified for six seconds. It’s a great start for someone who wants to try their hand at Top Dragster. It’s for sale in Illinois for $7887.
Now, if the seller can bring documented proof that Muldowney did, indeed have her hands anywhere near this car, this would be a stunning find. Muldowney was the first woman to get a Top Fuel license, won the Top Fuel championship three times and made the Auto Racing All-American team four times. A certified badass behind the wheel, Muldowney ran with Connie Kalitta in 1970s as the “Bounty Huntress” before going independent in Top Fuel. She retired out of racing in 2003 and has been inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America and the International Motorsports Hall of Fame, and is in the NHRA’s Top 50 Drivers list.

Hey guys. I looked up a gallery of 91 top fuel cars and Shirley muldowney’s page and the car looks pretty legit. If it’s not. It was built to match pretty well.
It definitely is Shirleys car. I can vouch for that. I recognize many things about it. I once had the little front wheels. ..also those large ones. That’s the car that beat Gwynn in Phoenix. Also the first side by side 4…against Amato @ Maple Grove.
Plus….that is the exact injector that was on the car….it had that black plastic piece on the opening.
If this car is from 1991, this would be the car Larry Minor ordered for Shirley to drive before it went to McEwen with the Mobile 1 sponsorship. Muldowney returned to her 1989 car for the 91 season. Right?

It’s Larry Minor’s 1990 Otter Pops car that Shirley drove. In 1991, Shirley went back to her own 1989 car…which was very similar. The new car that Minor had ordered..went to McEwen as the Mobil 1 car. Again…very similar. Shirley was the only one that could fit in this car. McEwen s fat ass would have never fit in it!
