Demon Watch: Instant Inlet Temperature Drops Are Available From The Air Conditioner!

The official reveal of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is only a couple weeks away, but the teaser campaign that is doling out bits and pieces of information is still up and going. The latest update video released by FCA addresses one of the biggest issues that supercharged mills face: heat. It doesn’t matter if it’s a factory setup or an aftermarket blower, heat is the enemy. Air-to-air or air-to-water intercoolers are normally the answer, but if you’ve ever watched somebody stuffing an icebox in-between laps, you have had to wonder if there is a better way.

The Demon is the first production vehicle with a liquid-to-air “cooler chiller system”. What that means is when the car is in “Drag Mode”, the air conditioning system diverts to the air charge cooling system, offering up to a 45° Fahrenheit difference between the outer air and what the blown Hemi is actually getting. If you’ve ever hoped for killer density altitude on a hot day, all you have to do is make sure the Demon is in the right mode.

Three videos left before the official reveal…how much more is Dodge still hiding?

Great idea – I’m just wondering where the condenser drain is. Dripping water on the starting line seems like a bad idea in your 90K (?) new toy. Kinda messes with straight launches and the barriers don’t care…..

Plus the power drain on the engine from running the compressor. Agree with the prior postings. Where is the water off the ac condenser going? Hope they accounted for this or we may see done Demons with their horns stuck in lane barriers or worse if they are running on the street.

well, it’s a liquid to air cooler…..i’d figure it’s routed to the liquid tank….
