Nitro Vette! Randy Merrick’s Corvette Doorslammer Runs 3s With A Blown Nitro Burning Engine

Nitro Vette! Randy Merrick’s Corvette Doorslammer Runs 3s With A Blown Nitro Burning Engine

Now THIS is BangShift approved! You are about to watch a video featuring the nitro fueled, blown Corvette of Randy Merrick as it attacks the track in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is effectively a pro modified that is running a healthy dose of the good stuff in the tank. We don’t know the percentage but we do know that thing sounds good and it runs 3s in the eighth. Now, you may be saying, “So what?!” The reality is that Merrick is far from done sorting this whole thing out and the more aggressive he gets in tipping the can in the future the faster he is going to go.

Scott Palmer has his Studebaker which has a complete top fuel drivetrain in it, right down to the axles. This is not that approach but rather the opposite. This is a pro mod with an alcohol motor in it, getting some nitro in the fuel tank. People must go ape when they smell and hear this thing in the pits.

Any vehicle that runs on nitromethane is good in our book. Any vehicle that does it with this style, without puking the rods onto the track, and in a different way than people are used to is a triple win. Randy Merrick is a BangShifty hero and his Corvette is bad ass.
