Racers in California and other warm weather climates are often envied by guys like me who are still waiting for their local strip to open after the glaciers have pulled back. Sure there are issues out west with tracks fighting to stay open and encroachment from residential nieghborhoods and other stuff but the sun is nearly always shining and the racing scene never dies down. Competitors were out in force for the 4th annual Nitto Tires NMCA West Muscle Car Nationals at Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, California recently as the proverbial train pulled out of the NMCA station to begin the 2015 campaign out west.

Having been at the season openers for the NMRA and NMCA series respectively this year, we can tell you from experience that these are fun shows filled with great racers and cars. Make sure you check out the NMCA, NMCA West, and NMRA (if you are of the Ford persuasion) to see where the tours are heading and how you can have some fun at the track. Whether you want to spectate, go bracket racing, or let it eat heads-ups, there’s a class for you and a place for you to race!
