Drag Car TIME CAPSULE with a Surprise – The One that Got Away From The Hot Rod Hoarder

Tommy Lee Byrd and his family have a pretty cool collection of old hot rods and drag cars. To a lot of people these wouldn’t be much to look at, because Tommy tends to leave them alone as much as possible so that they stay in survivor status, but to us there is nothing cooler than some of their fun rides. In the video below, Tommy is talking about “The one that got away!” and explains how this car impacted his life, where it is today, and how he came to find it again.

Check it out.

Video Description:
The HISTORY behind this one-of-a-kind Plymouth Arrow drag car is so cool and I can’t believe the name connection. I also can’t believe I didn’t buy this car. I’m still kicking myself about it over a year later. This 1976 Plymouth Arrow is a homebuilt hero, starting from a wrecked body from a Chattanooga area junkyard. A $200 body was the start of an intense project. The frame and suspension is home built, and this car has a 1971 340ci Chrysler engine from a Dodge Challenger. This car went through several phases through the years, and it’s been off the track for more than 20 years, but it has been preserved very nicely. The car needs some updates to be legal for the track, but it’s functional and it’s a super cool pice of local drag racing history.

This time capsule drag car is packed with cool one-off details. I had the opportunity to buy this car at an amazing price, but I didn’t pull the trigger. It was a tough decision, and I still regret it, but I had to make a choice. Take a look at the history of this car, and how it fell into my lap….and find out why I didn’t buy it.
