(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – I find the staging lanes can be a great place to get some good photos. They can also be a challenge because you don’t want to hinder anyone’s progress, but also don’t want to get run over while snapping a photo. There are times of high activity I avoid it, but when there is a lull and folks are just waiting its pretty safe to venture out and get some interesting and usually uncluttered photos. This is our second year coming to this event and there is no shortage of Mopars and a few out-of-the-ordinary rides you might not see at a typical event. We enjoy them all and we’re always up for something different.
Some highlights of the staging lane photos:
Gold Rambler that looks like it means business
Multi-color square-body Chevy pickup
Mid-50s Chevy truck with a decent-looking LS swap. Without the coils I’d really like it
Black, Blown-Alcohol, big-block, zoomie-headered Brogie Roadster
Enjoy.

What is the model of the car in this photo? http://bangshift.com/assets/galleries/staging-lanes-and-pits-edgewater/hotroddrag-staging-0123.jpg
It looks like a Packard but I don’t know which.
I believe that is a 1955-ish Mercury. I am certain its Mercury….not certain of which year.
It is a Montclair having a look at 55 Mercury’s with a grill from a 54 Fairlane it looks like. Thanks for your help.
