(Photos by Bras Klaassen) – The 2013 Spring version of the Throwdown in T-Town is officially in the books. If you missed our live broadcast, shame on you (we kid)! If you were one of the thousands of people who tuned in to see all the action, thanks and we’ll soon be telling you where our cameras and selves will be next. While Chad was the eye in the sky with the video camera, Brad Klaassen was our man literally on the ground with his still camera. Brad blasted the race from all angles, the pits, and just about everything else you can think of at Tulsa.
The Throwdown is a cool race because they find a class for virtually anyone who wants to come and run a fast machine with doors. There were outlaw and traditional pro mods bashing into the 3s, top dragster racers with turbocharged big blocks behind their heads, guys racing nitro powered motorcycles, a wheelstander, small tire action and even gassers. Brad was there for it all and he did a great job of capturing the action.
One of the most interesting cars on the grounds was the Chevelle turbocharged pro mod you see burning out below. This is the machine that carries the all-billed Mike Moran hemi that we told you about at PRI. The engine makes some 4400hp at full boost on alcohol. While the car didn’t set the world on fire at Tulsa, the guys are getting there with the all new tune up and we expect some mondo performances out of the Chevelle once they have a handle on it. All new stuff takes some time to make happy. It is a bad ass car, for sure!
WE HAVE TWO GALLERIES FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE! ONE OF FROM FRIDAY QUALIFYING AND THE OTHER IS FROM SATURDAY ELIMINATIONS!
