First Look Video: Dan Stevenson Begins Testing New Turbo Pro Mod Camaro

After suffering one of the most heinous fires in the history of the pro modified class, the world was wondering what Dan Stevenson planned to do. Was he done with the sport? Would be rebuild the nitrous car? Were there other hills to be climbed? The simple answer is that Dan Stevenson is not done with the sport by a long shot and he likely made himself more competitive by buying the turbocharged car that Rickie Smith build over the winter. Neither one of the guys is exactly what you wold call a spring chicken so Dan fit into the car really well and it made it a no brainer situation.

You will not see any big numbers here, no hero stuff, but you will get a fantastic look at the car, at the driver, and what impact he has had on all his levels of racing. There are a multitude of variations of the fifth generation Camaro body in the world of pro mod these days. This one is an interesting look with the kind of duck bill nose and oddly shaped windshield.

This is one bad mamma jamma and the boys are figuring it out from top to bottom!

  1. Chevy Hatin' Mad Geordie

As about the only thing that is pure Chevy is the bow tie on the nose, I can honestly say that I love this beauty to bits. Pro Mod is my favourite form of drag racing and I love the amazing standards of preparation that go into these cars. From paint jobs that could win prizes at any custom show to motors that could be shown in the Guggenheim and all this combined with a soundtrack that could out Black Sabbath Black Sabbath themselves!

Heaven on a drag strip indeed..

It’s time to get some stiffer rules in place regarding car bodies. A Camaro? C’mon…….
