(Photos by David Whealon) – We’ll never, we we mean never get tired of looking at cars and trucks with the front ends pulled high in the air coming off the starting line. Why? We’re not sure what it does to our brains around here but it definitely causes some of the synapses to really wake up and fire right. This collection of photos shot by David Whealon centers around that fun, that coolness, and that physics defying delight known as the wheel stand.
These photos come from a recent NHRA Division 2 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event held at GALOT Motorsports Park in North Carolina. The traction was obviously strong and the horsepower was as well. The diversity of vehicles you’ll see with the front ends up is the best part. From square body GM trucks to dragster, Super Gas roadsters, and more. We may be partial to the stockers and super stockers but there’s not a car in this photo collection we’d not love to own.
