Four Doors Work! All The Proof You Need Is In The “Honk If Parts Fall Off” Chevelle And It’s Drag Week Performance!

The black-and-blue four-door 1967 Chevelle known as “Honk If Parts Fall Off” is as far from a sleeper as you can get. It’s a cool car, don’t get us wrong…It’s been Rich Steinke’s ride since he was fourteen years old and it’s gone through several builds along the way, but when you are running drag-appropriate rubber at all four corners, a parachute and a V8 rumble with “250” emblems on the fenders…no, you’re as far from a sleeper as you can get. Instead, appreciate this Chevelle for what it truly is: a monster of a four-door that has the oats to run head-to-head at the strip. Over a thousand horsepower sits under that flat hood, yet when it’s time to hit the street the gearing allows for pleasant highway cruising. And if something breaks, it gets fixed…even if that means utilizing all of the space a hotel room offers to make the fix happen. The focus has been put towards what needs to be fixed and what needs to work best, and hardly any attention has been deviated towards making this thing “pretty”. You don’t need much in life to be truly happy with what you’ve got. You can be fine with a four-door car…provided it’s got tons of power and runs eights in the quarter mile.
