We love chassis dyno vidoes and we especially like them when interesting things are being run on the rollers. We have showed you Power Wheels, sand cars, and now we’re showing you a body-less funny car with a blown, alcohol burning, big block Chevy making a pull! The title of the video calls this a 1,000hp drag car but we’re guessing that the aluminum headed, Littlefield blown rat engine makes more than 1,000hp but that’s just us.
We could watch videos of drag slicks growing all day long and this is a pretty good illustration of just how instantly the centrifugal force these tires experience causes them to grow. It is also an interesting way to see how that growth changes the final drive ratio of the race car as it goes down the track. The taller that tire gets, the “taller” the gear ratio becomes, effectively.
While we do not get any power numbers here, we think that it is a pretty fun thing to watch. Now we want to see a nitro car up there. If the crowd had their ears plugged for this alky burner, we’d love to see their reaction with a face full of the good stuff!
