(Photos by Wes Allison) – We know you have seen loads of Funny Car Chaos photos from the Earth-shaking event at the Texas Motorplex just a couple of weekends ago. Nearly 70 funny cars of all shapes, sizes, speeds, fuels, and power plants showed up. This collection of photos from the pits will show you some of that diversity. From the classic Rodeck 481 shown in the lead photo to a funny car with mufflers, another with turbochargers, and the list goes on and on.

The one common factor among all the people and cars wasn’t speed or horsepower, it was the want to be part of something special in drag racing. They were. Machines from all over the country hauled to Texas just to say that they were a part of it. Multiple fields of cars were run during eliminations to give the maximum opportunity to racers for track time and glory.

Some operations look right from the pits of an NHRA national event. Some operations look right from the home garage of the owner. It’s all fantastic and these photos, perhaps even more than action on the track, tell the incredible tale of an incredible funny car drag racing weekend in Texas.
