(Words by Bad Brad Klaassen, shots by Patrick and Jen Williams at Red’s Drag Racing Photos) – What do you at the end of a racing season when the weather is still fantastic and it’s time to give thanks for another great season? Well, according to the Legendary Midnight Drags promoter and organizer “the Madman” Cliff Parvin you put together a charity race to help out the Little Light House, a tuition free school dedicated to improving the education and quality of life for special needs children and their families.
The racers turned out for this inaugural event in good numbers to support a fantastic cause and to have some fun and make a few more season ending laps, all the while raising money for an organization dedicated to helping special needs children ages birth to age 6, with all proceeds of the event being donated to the Little Light House. Both racers and fans had a blast on a beautiful fall day enjoying the racing and giving thanks for another successful and safe season while still remembering those less fortunate.
“The Madman” and crew did a fantastic job of organizing the event with hopes of making this an annual event every November benefiting other great causes. With the support of racers and fans I’d say that’s very doable. A big attaboy goes out to Cliff Parvin for putting on Hot Rods with Heart and giving racers the opportunity to show how big their hearts really are.
