Gone In Seconds: From A Theft Recovery To A Strip Screamer, This X275 Dodge Challenger Has Come Back Badder Than Ever!

If you hunt through the pages of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, you can come across the “Sports Car Rental” section. Instead of getting your basic mode of transportation, you can opt-in to drive around in a V8-powered muscle car instead. You’ll pay the premium, but it beats wheeling around in a Hyundai whatever-the-hell, right? Well, for this 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T, it must’ve beat the car that the thief wasn’t able to drive in the first place, because the car was stolen and stripped out and left as a shell. Bad deal, right? It’s a fantastic deal for a racer…you’re gutting the original running gear anyways, plus just about everything else, and you’re mostly on your way to having the car ready for the cage. If anything, it’s perfect! That’s the story, in a nutshell, of Marty Pearcy’s X275-class Challenger R/T that appeared at Lights Out 9 in Georgia. We know racers in who swear by modern Mopar performance, but this bronze machine is another level. The mill is a 400 cubic inch Hemi that has roots in the long-gone Pro Stock Truck scene, backed up to a GM TH400 automatic (a surprisingly common swap in the modern Hemi scene) and of course, you can’t miss the Precision 88mm turbo sucking air through the bumper. In a class that tends to be The Camaro and Mustang Show, the Challenger stands out bright as day and keeps up just fine!
