(Photos by Wes Allison) – While the drag strip has the majority of the attention during the God Vibrations March Meet, there are two other important areas that every gearhead needs to check out. Those are the swap meet and the famed Famoso Grove of course. The swap meet is self explanatory as it is filled with cars, parts, junk, some of the weirder people you will ever meet, and historic stuff that everyone wants to own. The bargaining is fun to watch and the deals have always been plentiful.
The Famoso Grove is a cool spot because it is a tree lined area that has been expanded and built on remembering the legends of the sport of drag racing. Each tree has been planted in someone’s honor and when the thing is completely full of cars being displayed it is really a fun place to walk through and check out all the iron. Because the Grove and the swap meet areas basically abut each other on the property it makes a nice break from the track and to stretch your legs.
That being said, let’s electronically stretch our legs and check out the Famoso Grove and the swap meet at the 2017 Good Vibrations March Meet!
