It has bee a while since I cracked the vault open and grabbed a fresh set of cool, historic, and old drag racing magazine ads our for everyone to see. These scans are all from 1967 and they are all featuring things like cars, races, exhibition machines, and more. The sport was evolving quickly at this time. The flip top funny cars of 1966 were causing a proliferation of those type machines while the crazy altered wheelbase cars were still being booked at tracks for shows as well. There was no clear cut “right way” to funny car at this point although it was becoming more evident by the day, which course evolution was taking.
These ads have parts, they have exhibition cars looking to be booked and they have big races advertised. From NASCAR sanctioned stuff down south to Bakersfield stuff out west, a little bit of everything for your viewing pleasure.
