This Hellcat-Swapped Jeep Grand Cherokee Moves Out! Check Out It’s Blast From Maple Grove!

The Modern Street Hemi Shootout series recently hit Maple Grove Raceway in Pennsylvania for the second leg of the 2017 racing season, and as usual for Dan VanHorn and crew, the sounds of very angry late-model Mopar roar filled the air. And the sound of blower whine, too…considering the popularity, you would suspect that there would be more than a few Hellcats roaming around the grounds at an MSHS race, right? From past experiences, we’ve shown you that there are plenty of Chargers and Challengers that slap on slicks and line up at the Tree, but Steve Egnaro’s WK1 Grand Cherokee SRT is one of the bigger surprises we’ve learned about this year. Meet the Hellhawk.

In lieu of the 6.1L V8 that the Jeep came with from the factory is all 707 horsepower of supercharged FCA goodness, backed to a Paramount Performance-built NAG-1 tuned by Hemituner Performance. No, this isn’t an upcoming Trackhawk, but if you wanted to know what the upcoming Hellcat Jeep could be capable of, here’s a taste. This is the first pass on the recently put-together build, so there’s a good chance that by the Detroit race at Milan Dragway the Hellhawk could be faster. And note the sixty-foot time…that’s with all four wheels ablaze. Woof!
