Hellfire! Watch Dave Vantine Run 5.77/239mph On A Top Fuel Motorcycle – One Of Three 5.70 Riders Ever

Hellfire! Watch Dave Vantine Run 5.77/239mph On A Top Fuel Motorcycle – One Of Three 5.70 Riders Ever

Ok, so who’s ready for the NHRA pro mod VS top fuel motorcycle match race? C’amon you think it is a bad idea but these things are running neck and neck now. Ok, well it is a bit unfair on the motorcycle side because the 5.70 runs are not exactly raining out of the sky but there’s a new rider who can claim to have made an impression on the most hallowed of current top fuel motorcycle racing ground, the 5.70s. His name is Dave Vantine and while he is not the quickest to fastest quarter mile racer ever he may well bee the quickest and fastest eighth mile top fuel rider ever. His machine went from the starting line to the eighth in 3.78 seconds at 229 mph. HE DID THAT SITTING ON A MOTORCYCLE. Note the front wheel and how long that bad boy is up in the air for.

This is mind boggling stuff and these cars are every bit as quick as “legal” pro mods now but the difference is that instead of chromemoly steel tubing to protect them these riders they essentially have a glorified leather jacket on. As we like to do here, this is a top fuel motorcycle, not a nitro harley that more people may be familiar with. These are supercharged, nitro burning, flame spewing beasts that make their power the old fashioned way with big rpm, big boost, and nitro to drown a horse…or a team of them.

Enjoy this amazing blast into the top echelon of motorcycle drag racing performance.

Press play to see Dave Vantine make his thumping 5.77/239 blast!

the 1/4 time and MPH are Very impressive, the 1/8 time and MPH are so insane they are just STUPID—WOW

Is it just me or did he shut it off a bit early? It looked to me like there weren’t any header flames as he went through the finish line.
