Holley’s Intergalactic Ford Fest and NMRA’s World Finals: Is This The End?!

Yep, we’ve come to the end of our coverage from Holley’s Intergalactic Ford Fest and the NMRA’s World Finals event at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky. We went into the event hoping for good things and I speak for all of us when I say that our expectations were exceeded nicely. There’s room for growth, but for the inaugural event of the new layout, there’s no doubt that it’s good. Starting the fun off with Bigfoot 1 pulling into it’s parking space in front of Holley’s trailer was just the tip of the iceberg. Cleetus came out and made a hell of a show with his Shelby-powered Crown Victoria. The drifters left nothing on the table when they got their chance to play. The NMRA racers slugged it out the whole weekend on the dragstrip and the show cars were impressive. All in all, everyone who was instrumental to the production of the weekend should be proud of themselves and should be making their preparations for next year’s show.

We caught hell for this year’s LS Fest coverage, claiming that we worshipped the engine and that we avoided other ventures in the names of GM’s wonder mill. Well, here’s the truth: look at every photo in both LS Fest and Ford Fest coverage. We shot those photos. It’s not about the engines. It’s about everyone who turns up and shows off for the weekend. The only difference between the two shows, really, is brand preference. Otherwise, it’s the same: bring your car, pick your poisons, and spend the weekend with a bunch of like-minded gearheads having fun along the Barren River. Until next year…
