Hot Rod Hoarder Feature: This REAL DEAL Z/28 Drag Car That Parked Outside for Decades And Is Now FOR SALE!

Tommy Lee Byrd has found another one! I can’t believe some of the stuff he finds sitting around in yards, barns, fields, and tree lines, but he does it over and over again. I love it, because anytime he shares a find it is awesome, but sometimes these stories blow me away more than others. This is one of those stories, and once you read the description below and watch the video, you will understand exactly what I’m talking about.

Video Description:

This ’69 Camaro abandoned drag car became internet famous because it sat outside and was visible from the road. Now, this REAL DEAL Z/28 is available on Ebay in all of its glory. Very little has been done to the car since it was bought in 2024 from the previous owner’s estate. It does not run or drive, but it has a truck load of original and period correct parts on it. This car is a real survivor from the ’70s, with parts like an Edelbrock single-four tunnel ram, Lakewood blow proof bell housing, and even 6.14 gears inside the 12 bolt rear end. Unfortunately it DOES NOT have its original DZ302 engine, but it does come with a CE replacement block to build a 302 if desired. In my opinion, the LT1 is a cool piece and plays into this car’s history as a drag car, so I’d probably hang onto that one.

The seller has a great description on Ebay and this thing could bring some big bucks. I’m not sure what the reserve is set at, but it’ll be entertaining to watch as it comes down to the end. The auction ends on Sunday, February 23rd. What would you do with this car? Back to stock, so you could have a $100k car or keep it a rough and rowdy drag car? You guys know what I’d do.
