There ain’t much that would make us tap the keys this late on a Friday night but BangShift.com has learned through multiple trusted sources that the NMCA will be announcing a new class next week and from what we have learned and what we have been told it is “something that people will love,” and ” the pro stock class that everyone has been dying for”.
We have been given no specifics on any of this stuff but one must make the mental leap that if the “pro stock” term is being thrown around it will involved the “package” cars from the Ford, Chevrolet, and Chrysler. Again, we have no specifics and have been unable to get an official comment at this time but from what we have heard from people that we trust in this sport, NMCA could be making a very significant move and creating something that people have been clamoring for over the last several years.
We are going to keep working the phones on this one but the best source we had on this thing said an announcement was coming next week. A new heads up class is always a good thing for racers, track operators, and fans. Stay tuned. We will be!
(Update: While we can get no official comment from NMCA officials, we have been poking around some racers that we know who compete with factory drag cars and to a man they have all said that a class like we hope this one could be would be a riot to both participate in and watch. We’re going to continue to pester NMCA officials and see what we can learn in the coming days.)
Hmmmm…wonder what Not Hardly Relevant Anymore will do now?
