I cannot begin to explain my jealousy over Kyle’s recent trip to Australia. Powercruise was the first show I’d ever heard about, the first one I equated to burned tires, skids for distance, the Aussie definition of “cruising”, horsepower figures that are better suited to earthmoving devices than streetgoing cars and enough screaming V8 noise to satisfy even the most die-hard, every day involved kind of gearhead. If I had to pick a show to schedule a trip for, that was going to be it. Nothing against any other show…Summernats is just as mental, but I have to check Powercruise off of my list. And in Australia, not just Powercruise USA that has been held at Brainerd over the last few years.

Whether it’s trip one or one hundred, the question needs to be asked: how do you just pick ten vehicles with all of that forbidden fruit around? And nevermind the hoards of blown V8s, either…the rotaries, the screaming sixes, the classic icons and the late-models that we only barely got to sample. How do you pick? He tried, and he did come up with a list. If it were me I’d still be walking around like some kid that just entered Willy Wonka’s Candy Land room…
